The Inaugural Arvin Criterium Race will be held May 25, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Garden in the Sun Park at the junction of Bear Mtn. Blvd and Walnut Dr. Online registration ends May 24. There will be limited day-of registration available.
Race Day Schedule:
- 10:30 a.m. – Scooter race
- 11:20 a.m. – Kids race
- 12:00 p.m. – Adults, trikes, misc.
- 12:40 p.m. – Road bike race
- 1:20 p.m. – Fixie race
Registration includes a t-shirt and bike tube. Helmets are required for all racers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do my child or I really need a helmet?
Yes, we will require that each child has a helmet prior to beginning the race. There may be some helmets available for those who do not have one, however, we can not guarantee that there will be helmets or that there will be enough helmets.
What happens if my child or I do not have a helmet?
You will not be allowed to participate in the event.
Are parents allowed on the course with their kids for the Kid’s Criterium?
For the kids 5 and under, parents will be allowed on the course during the race. For the child’s race 6 and older, parents will not be allowed on the course. Please come talk to us and we are willing to make accommodations if needed.
Will all the kids race at the same time?
Depending on how many kids sign up for the race, we will break them up based on their age and skill level. We anticipate having an ages 5 and under heat, an ages 6-12 heat, and an ages 12-17 race.
Where will they be racing?
The race course is a little over a mile long. The race will be on a closed circuit course around Grimmway Academy to Walnut Street, a barrier will be assisting the riders to safely turn around before Bear Mtn Blvd, returning on Walnut Street and completing a loop around Grimmway Academy.

Will there be prizes?
We are looking for businesses to donate prizes for riders, however, we cannot guarantee any at this time.
