BIKE EDUCATION

Our classes and workshops are led by League of American Bicyclists certified League Cycling Instructors and experienced bicycle mechanics. The curriculum is designed and delivered by cycling experts with personal knowledge on bicycling for fitness, fun and transportation. These classes are beneficial to beginners, club riders, and even experienced commuters.

Babes Do Bikes
Bike Class
We’re excited to announce a basic maintenance class open to women, led by women! Our goal is to create a safe space to educate and empower women who want to know more than just riding a bike. This 3-hour course will cover:

Bike anatomy

Staying prepared on your rides

Flat tire repair

Drivetrain maintenance

ABC Quick Check

A bike in good condition is required. Basic Bicycle Maintenance is an adult level class for ages 16 and up. Class size is limited to 5 participants to ensure adequate one-on-one instruction. Though this class is designed with women in mind, it is open to everyone (yes, men too!).

Cost is $25 for non-members and includes a Basic Bike Bakersfield membership. The class is free for current Bike Bakersfield members (limit one free class per year). Membership may be purchased online, or you may pay at the time of the class.

The class is held on the first Saturday of the month at Bike Bakersfield at 1708 Chester Avenue, in between 17th and 18th Street.
