About: Join us for a family-friendly, all-ages cruise starting at Beach Park and following the bike path to the Marketplace. The ride is finished once the group reaches the Marketplace, so make sure you have a plan to get back to where you started! Some like to park at the Marketplace and ride to Beach Park prior to the start of the ride so they may enjoy the rest of the evening without having to ride back.
FYI: California Vehicle Code requires bicyclists under age 18 to wear a helmet. The vehicle code also requires bicycles to have a front facing headlamp and at least a red rear facing reflector when being ridden at night. Its not only the law, but a great way to keep yourself safe!
A partnership between BYP and the Kern Community Foundation, this monthly event series allows local nonprofits to highlight their services and volunteer opportunities, while young professionals build connections.
February’s featured nonprofit is Bike Bakersfield. Since 2005, this nonprofit has provided various programs and resources to encourage biking as a safe, fun and environmentally friendly means of transportation. Volunteers are an intricate part of this nonprofit’s mission, including helping with its educational programs, event coordination and providing testimony at public hearings.
Come learn how to get involved and enjoy complimentary beer and appetizers. This event is free to attend, so bring a friend!
