Bike Ride to the Edible Schoolyard of Kern County Plant Sale

We will be riding to the Edible School Yard Kern County Plant Sale from Bike Bakersfield.

Meet us at Beach Park at 8 a.m. for a mellow ride to the Buena Vista Edible Schoolyard at 6520 Buena Vista Rd. This will be a kid friendly ride. The route will be on the bike path and mostly on neighborhood streets. Everyone is invited!

8:00 am Depart Beach Park
8:30 am Riverwalk Park
8:40 am Grand Lakes and Ming Ave.
8:50 am Campus Park and Mountain Vista
8:55 am Greystone Park Harris and Mountain Vista
9:00 am Buena Vista Edible School Yard

Plant Sale starts at 9 am and will run to 1:30 pm.

    Join us on Monday, July 1 as we ride to watch the Bakersfield Train Robbers take on the Wasco Reserves! We will begin our ride at 6:30 pm at the Park at River Walk. We will then have a stop at Beach Park at 7:15 pm. Feel free to meet us at either park to join us as we travel to the ball game that begins at 7:45 pm. Free entry to the game when you bike with us. We will have a bike valet system to secure the bikes while we watch the game. There will be $1 beers and $1 hot dogs at the game! Check out our map for more route details.

    Second Saturday is a great time to join in on the monthly buzz and fun happening in downtown Bakersfield.

    Bike Bakersfield will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be open for tuneups and volunteers to gain hours towards the recycle-a-bike program.

    Join us for a family-friendly, all-ages cruise starting at Beach Park and following the bike path to the Marketplace. Experience a gorgeous Bakersfield night at 8 p.m. while feeling the wind blow as you pedal your bike with friends and family down Kern River Parkway Trail.

    All ages and skill levels are encouraged to come. The ride is a comfortable, 10-12 mph pace and welcomes riders of all kinds.

    Lights and helmets are strongly encouraged. The ride will follow the Kern River Parkway Trail west from Beach Park and turn South at CSUB, continue on the bike path through CSUB campus, and end at the Marketplace.

    California Vehicle Code requires bicyclists under age 18 to wear a helmet. The vehicle code also requires bicycles to have a front facing headlamp and at least a red rear facing reflector when being ridden at night. It’s not only the law, but a great way to keep yourself safe.

    The ride is finished once the group reaches the Marketplace, so make sure you have a plan to get back to where you started! Some like to park at the Marketplace and ride to Beach Park prior to the start of the ride so they may enjoy the rest of the evening without having to ride back.
