The Bikes of Wrath – Special One-Time Screening

To reserve your tickets, please visit the Demand Film Event Page here: https://tickets.demand.film/event/7148?ref=VopeOmZj

Unlike a traditional movie showing, my Demand Film screening requires that 37 more tickets be reserved in the next 15 days in order for the screening to occur.

We’re going to need your help if we’re going to make this event happen! We’d love to see you in the audience, and appreciate you helping me spread the word. Tell your other friends and have them join us for this special one-time screening of The Bikes Of Wrath! Thanks for all your support!

About Bikes of Wrath

Producer: Cameron Ford & Charlie Turnbull
Director: Cameron Ford & Charlie Turnbull

Five Australians attempt to cycle 2600kms from Oklahoma to California in honour of the westward migration undertaken by ‘The Grapes of Wrath’s’ Joad family. Through chance encounters with everyday Americans, the cyclists expand on the novel’s core themes of migration, inequality and the perceived land of opportunity. The group explores whether America has progressed since the book was written, discussing the wealth gap, immigration and the American Dream. The fascinating people they meet along the way reveal the enduring strength of human spirit despite the inequality and disenfranchisement which runs as deep today, as it did in Steinbeck’s seminal novel. The Bikes of Wrath is a unique, funny and insightful documentary filled with adventure, literature, music, and human connection.

Join us for a family-friendly, all-ages cruise starting at Beach Park and following the bike path to the Marketplace. Experience a gorgeous Bakersfield night at 8 p.m. while feeling the wind blow as you pedal your bike with friends and family down Kern River Parkway Trail.

All ages and skill levels are encouraged to come. The ride is a comfortable, 10-12 mph pace and welcomes riders of all kinds.

Lights and helmets are strongly encouraged. The ride will follow the Kern River Parkway Trail west from Beach Park and turn South at CSUB, continue on the bike path through CSUB campus, and end at the Marketplace.

California Vehicle Code requires bicyclists under age 18 to wear a helmet. The vehicle code also requires bicycles to have a front facing headlamp and at least a red rear facing reflector when being ridden at night. It’s not only the law, but a great way to keep yourself safe.

The ride is finished once the group reaches the Marketplace, so make sure you have a plan to get back to where you started! Some like to park at the Marketplace and ride to Beach Park prior to the start of the ride so they may enjoy the rest of the evening without having to ride back.
