We are so excited to announce Aaron Gonzalez as our new programs director! His history with Bike Bakersfield goes way back to his volunteering in our Recycle-A-Bike program at age 14 (check out the photos below). Ever since he earned that first bike, he’s been commuting and working on bikes.
His goals for Bike Bakersfield are to help people ride safely, predictably and efficiently. He hopes to make the bike kitchen more efficient and easily accessible for cyclists, commuters and anyone that needs the shop.
“I am excited to be more involved in the cycling community,” Gonzalez said. “I am really just excited to get out in the community and teach bicycle and pedestrian safety to children and anyone who commutes.”
He will be leading events, bike rides and heading up our Bakersfield bike kitchen. Stop by and meet our newest team member!
