Over spring break we partnered with Beale Memorial Library to host four days of bike rodeos where we repaired bikes, taught safety lectures and led the youth on an obstacle course to practice their safety skills. We had two bike maintenance days and two bike rodeo days. We used bike maintenance days to deliver a safety lecture and help students repair and maintain their bike. We had pumps, bike tubes and other equipment ready to help the kids.
Bike rodeo days was a fun, on-bike course. Kids brought their bikes to participate and we had a great time. Thank you to the library staff for their help and the youth and parents who made it out to the event.
Check out the photos below and stay tuned for more rodeos at libraries around Bakersfield and Arvin!
